Softball Comes Out with another Win
By Sara Shaker - The Darien High School Girls’ Varsity Softball Team beat Ridgefield High School at Ridgefield 7-3 on Wednesday (4/27). The teams were tied 2-2 for the first four innings of the game. Finally, in the 5th inning, sophomore Emily Moscatello got a big hit to get the team’s momentum going. Later in the inning, Ridgefield intentionally walked senior captain Nicole Buch (pictured). Junior Jessica DeMaio got up to bat with the bases loaded and hit a double. Juniors Olivia Gozdz and Courtney Bell got hits, giving the team a big lead. With a double from junior Kelly Fahey the team was able to get a win. “It wasn’t our best game, but we pulled it together and came out with a W,” said Gozdz. The team’s next game is Friday (4/29) at home against Greenwich at 4PM. Come support the team in its car wash this Saturday (4/30) from 9AM to 12PM at the high school.
