Girls varsity soccer had an important game against Suffield this Wednesday, November 7.
According to junior Olivia Maniscalco, the girls, “went into the game knowing Suffield was undefeated, and hadn’t let a goal in all season.” Based on statistics, the odds seemed to be in Suffields favor. Maniscalco was not phased by this, saying, “Because of our success against teams like Staples and St. Joe’s...we were not phased by this.” The girls upheld their high spirits throughout the game. Maniscalco attributes the team’s success to their team, which did not falter through two halves of overtime playing. With their 1-0 win, they will now advance to the CIAC quarterfinal against Ridgefield. The game will take place at Ridgefield High at 4 pm this Friday, November 9.
