Girls varsity hockey team landed a 4-0 win against Guilford High School on Thursday night (1/7). “It was a good team effort; we really showed up to play today,” senior captain and goalie Katharine Macomber said. The Wave got on the board first in the first period with a goal by junior Emma Tuz. The second period was scoreless but it was clear Blue Wave was dominating on the power play. The third period was all Darien; they were able to score three goals. Two goals came in the first five minutes - the first from junior Lacey Perticone and a second from Emma Tuz. The last goal put the game away. It was scored on an empty net by senior captain Madeline Coburn. The girls’ next game is away against Ridgefield next Wednesday. (1/13)
