The DHS Band held its 3rd annual turkey drive on November 26th. Band members stood outside the main entrance of the high school from 7:00 - 7:40 am collecting turkeys as students and faculty dropped off them off curb-side. The band collected a total of 131 turkeys which will be donated to a soup kitchen.
“After everything the community has done for the DHS band,
we feel it’s really important to give back,” senior Sandhya Avula said.
“As a group, band really values contributing to the
community. Especially around the holidays, it’s important to give back to the
community that had supported us. It’s a fun thing to do and even though it was
a little chilly, it was worth it to help those families,” junior Allegra Molkenthin
said.
“Turkeys galore baby. Topped the last two years,” senior Peter Traver said.
