The St. Anthony’s Friars were no match for the undefeated
Blue Wave on Thursday, May 15th, as Darien won 12-6. Seniors Peter Lindley and Kyle Cornell, along
with sophomore Colin Minicus, led the offense, as both Lindley and Minicus had
a hat trick, and Cornell scored 2 goals and dished out an assist. These goals wouldn’t have come if it wasn’t
for the well-disciplined defense, as the Yale commit Phil Huffard came up big
with 14 saves, many of them from point-blank range. “Phil came up huge that game. It would have been a completely different
game if it wasn’t for Phil,” said junior midfielder Timmy Lochtefeld. Darien is now 4-0 against out-of-state teams,
and undefeated at 14-0. Check out the
Blue Wave this Friday, May 23rd, as they will face their first
opponent, which has yet to be determined, in the FCIAC tournament.
