On Monday November 4th, the field hockey team faced the Rams in the FCIAC semi-finals at Brian McMahon. The Wave went into the game with a record of 16-1 for the regular season, the only loss being to New Canaan, a classic rival.

Freshman Raina Johns scored the first goal of the game on a penalty stroke 12 minutes into the game. The rams answered back making the score 1-1. Sophomore Molly McGuckin gave the Wave a 2-1 lead with 9:42 left in the game. Rams yet again answered quickly, with many in fear that the game would have to go into overtime.

Johns scored again on another penalty stroke scoring the winning goal to make it a 3-2 win for the Wave.

Johns said "I was really nervous but also excited because I knew if I scored, we would be winning the game." Her goal is the reason the Wave took the win. "We were all so happy to know we were going to the championship" Johns said.
