The Darien boys hockey team defeated the number #1 ranked Trinity Catholic 3-2 this weekend. An impressive feat since Darien is ranked #17 in the state. With help from the rest of the team, Matt Gorski, Peter Walker, and Teddy Mally aided the team to victory and hold down the home turf at Darien Ice Rink. The upset was Trinity's only loss, pushing them down to second place, trailing close behind Fairfield Prep. Despite the weekend win, Darien has had a rough season with a record of 7-5-3, compared to last season's record of 10-2-0 and their FCIAC championship. "This was a big win, especially after our previous losses. I really think this is a turn-around in the season," senior left-wing, Chris Shaker said. Hopefully this will be enough to bring the team back in the game and hold onto their FCIAC championship.
