Yesterday (11/17) Darien Girls Volleyball once again became
State Champions! This is their first State Championship win since 2009. This
year, the team had an undefeated regular season and are FCIAC co-champions as
well. They played Cheshire in East Haven coming out with one final win in a
short three games. The first game ended with a score of 25-14, the second
25-18, and the third 25-21.
Seniors Kelly Kosnick and Riley Sousa both played aggressively
by making crucial hits and serves. The entire team fought their way to the
championship where finally all their hard work paid off. "We really stuck together as a team," said senior captain and the game's MVP Riley Sousa. Congratulations to the entire team for
their championship win!
