The Wave turned the tides Saturday, after the girls’ and boys’ track and field teams participated in the annual O’Grady Relays in Danbury. Darien girls’ placed second to Danbury who won the meet by just six points. Twenty five teams competed. Darien had outstanding performances including two new school records. Seniors Hadley Reigel, Amanda Koslo, Erica Long, and Caroline McDonough ran the 1200 400 800 1600 relay and set not only a school record, but a meet record as well with a time of 12:32.24. Standout athlete, junior Christy Gasparino also crushed the 34’11 foot school record in the triple jump with a final jump of 37 feet. The girls’ track team is currently 2-0 and will be competing at St. Joe’s on Monday April 27th.
