Boys' varsity soccer tied Bassick with a score of 1-1 on the DHS turf on Friday. Despite the wet fields, junior JJ Holmgren was able to start the game off with a quick goal to put Darien ahead.
Blue Wave's senior goalkeeper Robbie Shindler was able to hold the Bridgeport boys scoreless for the better part of the game until their offense squeezed by a goal in the middle part of the second half.
The cold fall evening seemed to slow down both teams. "The cold and wet weather really affected the game negatively, and kept the scoring low," senior Per Bjornstad said. (pictured)
The boys face New Canaan at Connor Field on Tuesday. (October 20th)
