Girls' Varsity Soccer game ends in a tie against Greenwich

By: Mac McDonough
The Girls' Varsity Soccer team faced off against Greenwich last Friday,
October 19. Although the teams tied with a final score of 0-0, the
girls were pleased with their performance out on the field.

"We played really well and this will give us momentum for the last two
games of our season to hopefully qualify for states," junior, Dillon
Schoen said after the game.

In the last three seconds of the game one of Greenwich's players had a
hand ball in the 18 yard box. A penalty that usually results in a free
kick, however the refs chose to turn a blind eye (clearly the NFL
replacement refs have found work in the Fairfield County area).

The girls' are looking forward to playing Norwalk this Tuesday under
the lights, and will have their senior day game Friday against
Fairfield Warde.

"When our team plays like it did against New Canaan and Greenwich we
can be the best team in the league," junior, Julia Black said after the
game.
