Last night (5/22) the Girls varsity tennis team played Staples for the second time this season. Last time the two teams played, Staples came out on top with a 2-5 match win and fortunately for the girls, this time, Darien came out on top with a 4-3 win.
With the bus leaving at 4:30pm on a rainy Tuesday afternoon, the team didn’t return to DHS for almost six hours due to the multiple games and cross-matches that needed to be played. The matches are played in best-of-seven series. Varsity players Mollie Riegel and Caroline McGuire agree that last night’s performance was one of the team’s best and the defeat of Staples really helps the team’s momentum.
The girls play Greenwich today (5/23).
