By Katherine Minion - On Wednesday night, the DHS Girls Varsity Hockey team lost in the state semi-finals game against Ridgefield. This loss marked the end of the team’s season. The final score of the game was 5 to 0, but Darien put up a strong fight. After the game, senior captain Lauren Perkins said, “Wave Puck did it on ‘em.” Despite a sad end to the season, the team performed very well this winter. “Every single player on the team stepped up. Nobody thought we would come this far and the season couldn’t have gone any better,” Perkins said. The team is looking forward to bringing its skill and team spirit back to the ice next winter.
