Girls Varsity Tennis Trumps St. Joseph High School

The Girls Varsity Tennis team beat St. Joseph High School 7-0 this past Thursday at 4pm at Darien High School (5/10). The girls played very well and dominated their opponents. Freshman Clair Kelley defeated sophomore Amanda Quiles 6-1, 6-1. Junior Jenna Murray dominated a match against sophomore Nicole Keklik 6-4, 6-2. Sophomore Caroline McGuire and sophomore Libby Feingold beat juniors Jen Novak and Alexandra Waizenegger 6-0, 6-1 in their doubles match. Junior Sarah Alptekin and her partner, freshman Catherine Hatfield, won their match 6-1, 6-2.
 “I’m seeing some improvement in all the players, especially amongst the doubles teams. They are really starting to click,” the Darien Varsity Tennis coach, Davin Gebauer, told “The Darien Times”.
Come watch the Girls Varsity Tennis team play against Greenwich High School on Monday at 4pm at DHS (5/14). You’ll certainly see some exciting matches!
