Girls Varsity Field Hockey Triumphs over NC

By Carson Halabi

This past Friday, September 23rd, Wave Girls Field Hockey battled the Rams, and they certainly drowned ‘em. Junior Erica Blaze commented, “NC has some really great individual players and are pretty good in one to one scenarios, so we focused on maintaining possession and connecting on the field.” This connection and composure on the field pushed them to victory, winning 3-1. Goals were scored by junior Kendall Wisinski, senior captain Campbell Matheis, and senior Emily Gianunzio. Matheis led the team, as did senior Kallie Coughlin, who had a ton of saves in the second half of the game. Junior Kerry Blatney commented, “As a team we are excelling, but we could work on keeping our composure in stressful situations.”

We will look forward to seeing improvements in the Wave’s next game on Tuesday, September 27 at Westhill!
