After a year of complete dominance the 2010 DHS Girls' Varsity Field Hockey Captains- seniors Ellie Riegel, Sam Johnston, and Sophie Watters will pass the reins to juniors Lilly Cassidy (pictured) and Galen Rohn. Cassidy and Rohn were named captains for the 2011 season this week. The girls look to continue the legacy of excellence the seniors established this fall. Look for seniors, Julia Cobb and Marguerite Morgan to have a great year as well. Although the upcoming season is almost one year away, Cassidy gave us her thoughts on future challenges. "We graduated 13 seniors this year so next year will be tough and the underclassman are going to have to play a bigger role than they have in the past, but I'm confident that with our coaching staff and returning varsity players we'll be able to pull it together and hopefully be successful." The new captains have tough roles to match. The girls won States and FCIACS for the fourth year in a row this year. We congratulate the new captains and wish them luck.
