The Darien Varsity Baseball Team played the Westhill Vikings on Friday the 13th. But the boys didn’t seem to be
struggling with any bad luck. The skies were clear and tons of parents and
students came to the game to root for the Blue Wave. The beginning of the game
went fast. First inning, Darien had one run and Westhill had nothing. Inning
two, Darien got two runs and Westhill still had nothing. After that there was a
lull in the game. Things slowed down and the next three innings had no runs.
Then, by the sixth inning Westhill got four runs and Darien got nothing,
putting the Vikings in the lead. In inning seven things turned around. A
dropped ball from the catcher got Darien a run tying up the game. Then, with two outs, two strikes, and three
balls a great hit Darien got one more run winning them the game.
