Girls Hockey Falls to Simsbury

By Mary Lawrence Huffman

On Saturday, December 10th, The Girls Varsity Hockey team fell to Simsbury in the final two minutes after a hard fought battle.  “We had a really good first period, moved the puck very well and broke it out of our defensive zone, got shots on net and ended up scoring.  Unfortunately as the game went on we kind of went downhill.  If we want to get back to where we were last year, we are definitely going to have to work on playing all three periods and not falling apart.  I think it was just an off game on our behalf, we’re much more capable than what happened in that game,” senior captain Emily Gianunzio said.  Simsbury is going to be one of the harder teams that the Girls Hockey team plays this year, along with Hamden, East Catholic, and Greenwich.

The Girls Hockey team’s next game is this Wednesday, December 14th against East Catholic at Terry Connors ice rink at 5:10pm.
