Girls Hockey Dominates Trumbull 9-1

By Taylor Davis

On Wednesday, December 21st, the Darien Girls Varsity Hockey team faced off against Trumbull. The team finally proved to be successful, winning 9-1. There was a surprising standout performance from freshman Katie Daileader. Daileader scored 4 out of the 9 goals. Also, junior Molly Read scored her first varsity goal. Senior captain Cassidy Schiff, commenting on the game, said: “our goal today was to get our scoring touch back since some tough goalies have been shutting us out lately. Everyone got ice time today, too, which encourages us to keep working for our spots.” The team plays Greenwich next, “which is a huge game because they’ve been doing well so far. The team also has a new and tough goalie, who we’re going to need to figure out how to beat,” Schiff said.
