Girl’s track competed well at CIAC State Opens on Monday at the Veterans’ Stadium in New Britain. In four events, Darien girls placed in the top ten. Junior Christy Gasparino placed fifth in the Triple Jump, and second in the high jump. With her high placings, she will be competing at New Englands in Burlington, Vermont on Saturdat. Senior Caroline McDonough (pictured above) also qualified for New Englands with her first place finish in the 3200 Meter Run. The Darien 4x800 Meter Relay Team senior Brooke Pfister, sophomores Megan Keane, and Amanda Dobler placed ninth out of 25 teams. Overall the DHS Track Girls earned a total of 31 points, which placed them fourth in the state. Good luck to Christy and Caroline this weekend!
