Girls Ice Hockey
defeated the Stamford Black Knights in a home game on Monday, December 19. The
Blue Wave scored early in the first shift with two goals from sophomore Ellie
Bennett, making the score 2-0. A third goal was made by freshman Christy Conley
that ended the first period. Darien had control of the puck for the duration of
the period. During the second period, freshman Julia Arrix scored a
short-handed goal. Shortly after, freshman Sammy Nielsen scored, raising the
score to 5-0. Bennett scored the final goal of the game during the second
period, giving her a Hat Trick for the game. The final score was 6-0 giving the
Blue Wave another win. Head Coach Al Gurney said that it was “a feel good game”
although “not all the games will be this easy.”
