On Wednesday, January 8, the Blue Wave Boys Hockey team took
on the Ridgefield Tigers at Darien Ice Rink. Both schools brought a student
section, and some students from New Canaan High School proved that they were
still hurting from the loss versus Darien, as they came to support the Tigers.
The puck was dropped at 8:00 pm, and from the start it was all Darien. While
both of the teams previously made the CIAC semi-finals (last year), Ridgefield
did not put up any competition for Darien. Darien took home the victory by a
score of 6-2. Goals came from seniors Jack Massie, Dillon Fitzpatrick, Owen Koorbusch,
and Robbie Juterbock (who scored two). “We came out flying, and got on the
board early; we were able to put the biscuit in the basket,” junior Jack Pardue
said, who also scored a goal. With that win Darien improves to 3-1, and now has
an FCIAC record of 2-0.
Come watch the Blue Wave’s next game at Darien Ice Rink on Saturday, as they take on their rivals the New Canaan Rams at 3:50.
