Girls Ice Hockey Crushes Ridgefield and Danbury

Natalie Vasileff

The Darien High School Girls Ice Hockey team had huge success in its game against Ridgefield and Danbury on Saturday the 15th. The final score ended up being 8-1 with DHS proving to be victorious in the game.

The team started off slow in the first period, but the girls were able to gain momentum in the second period which benefited them immensely. It was a real team game and everyone played hard.

Of course, this triumphant win wouldn’t have happened without the hard work the team has been putting in for the past few weeks. The team has largely improved in looking up at each other for passes and communicating well. However, the girls admit that they still need to work more on moving their feet properly and taking more shots. Despite it all, DHS still remains very proud!

“I think our team is in a good spot right now,” junior Caitlin Chan said. “We have a lot of good things going for us, but also plenty to work on. I’m looking forward to the progress we’ll be making this season.”

Make sure to go support the Girls Ice Hockey team in their next game against Darien’s top rival, New Canaan. The game will be this Monday the 17th at the Darien Ice Rink at 7:10 p.m.
