45th Seed Stuns Girl's Lacrosse

-By: Claire Dickson-

Girl's Varsity Lacrosse team lost to the Garden City, New Jersey team on Saturday. This loss comes on top of DHS’s defeat last year to the 45-seeded team in the nation. For the beginning of the game, the Wave seemed to be coming out strong and challenging Garden City's stellar defense. However, the Garden City offense would not back down and the team only let the Blue Wave jolt ahead by two goals. As the second half began, defensive players Jenny Joy, Kat Nestor, and Corey Vernon were challenged by a headstrong Garden City offense that, unfortunately, was too much for Blue Wave to handle. Wave lost their lead quickly and was brought down by Garden City with their win of 19-12 over the Blue Wave girls. Hopefully the team will use this loss to improve their team fundamentals, and come together for another strong regular and post-season.
