Kenyan Runners Join DHS Track Team

-By Jake McCauley-

The DHS Boy's Track and Field team is ecstatic about the recent additions to the team. Junior Samuel Wanjiru, distance runner, will be a powerhouse in the state this season. Wanjiru, who competed in this past summer's Olympics winning the marathon, will completely dominate all the competition his senior XC year. "We are all really pumped up for next year," junior Willem Sandberg said, "We are going to have the best runner in the state". Joining Wanjiru will be Eluid Kipchoge. Kipchoge also competed in the Olympics last year with his felllow countrymen. He finished 2nd in the 5000 meter run. "Kipchoge and Wanjiru will easily be the best in the state if not the country next year," said assistant coach Mike Orr, "Next year might be the first year that the Cross Country team will compete at Nike Cross Nationals." It should be a very interesting year next year, and the team will be extremely sucessful.

.... April Fool's!
