Juniors Brittany Henry, Catherine Lacey, Leah Hotchkiss, and
Dillon Schoen were named captains of the 2013-2014 girls indoor team on Wednesday
(2/27). They will be replacing seniors Elizabeth Heaney, Grace Loh, Sophie
Long, and Eleanor Smith.
In the 2012-2013 season, the team won the FCIAC, CIAC, and
State Open titles, with seven girls moving onto the New England Championship
this weekend.
Despite graduating seven seniors, the next season will not
be a rebuilding year for the team. “Lucky for us, the majority of our points
this season came from sophomores and juniors so we should be able to not only
maintain our standards but continue to improve,” Hotchkiss said.
“The other captains for next year are all high achieving students
and athletes, which creates a killer combination of determination and perseverance,”
Hotchkiss added. Between our work ethic and individual talents, our potential
is boundless.”
Neirad congratulates
the captains on their achievements and wishes the best of luck to the 2013-2014
Girls Indoor Track Team.
