Girls House Basketball Power Rankings

by Caroline McKay

1. Sun Devils (3-1) Points For: 104 Points Against: 84
The Sun Devils have proven they know how to work as a team unit. With a total of 104 points scored so far—the best in the league—and only 84 points scored against them, no one is denying their success on offense or defense. Stacked with upperclassmen, players to watch are senior Haley Close, senior Alexa Sheldon, junior Tyson Maley, and junior Amanda Percarpio.

2. Tarheels (3-1) PF: 93 PA: 71
The Tarheels have allowed the least points in the league, letting only 71 points’ worth of shots into the basket. With the third most points scored, it is obvious that they are not just a defensive team. Players to watch are seniors Colleen Keating (with a great outside shot) and Morgan Sawitsky, who is dangerous underneath the basket.

3. Hoosiers (2-2) PF: 99 PA: 100
The Hoosiers are a predominantly underclassmen team, but the height and skill seen in sophomores Mary Myers and Colleen Howe make up for it. While the Hoosiers have allowed the most points to be scored on them, they have scored the second most points in the league. Junior Keli Reyes leads the team in points scored, and has already begun to rack up the threes. Players to watch are Reyes and fellow junior Christy Conley.

4. Blue Devils (2-2) PF: 71 PA: 86
Stacked with athletic players, the Blue Devils have a good chance of making it far this season. Although they do have the least points scored so far, their record shows that they are capable of winning games. Players to watch are junior Elizabeth Fucigna and senior Lia Barsanti.

5. Bears (1-3) PF: 83 PA: 90
The Bears know how to play as a team, but with that being said they have only been able to pull off one win. Fourth in both points scored and points against, the Bears lie in the middle of the pack. Players to watch are junior Julia Boccuzzi and senior Kiki Martin.

6. Cavaliers (1-3) PF: 75 PA: 94
The Cavaliers have the skill set needed to win games, but unfortunately their abilities have not resulted in many victories. Players to watch are the Cush sisters (sophomore Ellie and junior Maddie), junior Claire Billeter, and senior Liz Stile.
