Girls Hockey Loses in Tough Game to New Canaan

By Emma Love

On Wednesday, January 24th, the Wave girls hockey team played a strong game against New Canaan despite the 2-0 loss. What followed was three periods of exciting hockey that has become a staple of Wave-Rams match-ups. Sophomore goalie Hallie Kreppein was solid in net, making 19 saves. Senior captain defensive pair Sally Cassidy and Kathleen Tropsa each made smart plays that helped keep the game tied at zero until the third period, where New Canaan scored the only two goals in the game.
New Canaan’s win places them first in the FCIAC standings with 16 points. Greenwich and Darien are currently in 2nd and 3rd place, with 12 points each.

Come cheer on the girls hockey team at their next game on January 27th versus Stamford-Westhill-Staples at Darien Ice Rink!
