On Tuesday, January 9th, Darien Girls Varsity Hockey faced Greenwich at the Darien Ice House and won 1-0. This win was a great bounce back from their loss to New Canaan last week. Senior captains Kathleen Tropsa, Sally Cassidy, Elise Maro, and Corinne Bevill brought their best efforts and leadership onto the ice to unite and motivate the team. The unity the team has on and off the ice is part of what is making their season successful so far.
Senior captain Sally Cassidy, along with the rest of the team, was very happy with the result of the game. Sally said, “It was a really good game and definitely the best one we’ve played as a team especially coming off a loss to New Canaan.”
I am confident that the team will get another win in their next game on Thursday, January 11th against Fairfield at the Wonderland of Ice rink at 4:40 pm. Be sure to go support the team.
