Boys Soccer Stuns Staples, 1-0 win
By Jay Alter - Eight wins. That is six more than the boys soccer team recorded last year as the wave continued their magical season with first year coach Jon Bradley. The blue wave currently sit in first place of the FCIAC and have a record of 8-1-2 as they handed Staples their first loss against Darien in "a long time" according to Coach Bradley. "We've played great soccer in every game except for one and that one they gave back to us," Bradley said at the end of the game referring to the forfeited win Darien received against Westhill. Darien was without senior captain, Matt Collier, but another captain, Elliott Helgans (pictured), put the team on his back with a remarkable game both defensively playing center defense, and also putting the only point on the scoreboard off a free kick assist from senior, captain Eric Kanigan. The wave certainly have made for a fun season and hope to record their ninth win against Trinity Catholic.
