Steinthal Scores on Senior Day
By Jay Alter - The Darien Boys Soccer team bounced back in style with two impressive wins after their embarrassing loss against Norwalk (10/17) with wins against Bassick and Stamford. On Senior Day (10/21), the wave faced a good Stamford team with a lot on the line and they capitalized capturing the FCIAC east crown for the second time in boys soccer history and clinched home field advantage in the FCIAC and State tournament. Their record is now 11 wins - 2 losses - 2 ties, keep in mind they had two wins last year, as they have only one game left against Trumbull next week. In the friday night game, senior day, against Stamford they relied on a senior to get the scoring stated. Senior, Kevin Steinthal answered the call as he put a wonder strike past the goalie to give the wave a 1-0 lead at the half. The wave kept their foot on the peddle in the second half and won the game 3-0.
