Girls Golf finish season strong on Senior Day

By Katherine Minion - Though heavy thunderstorms were expected, the sun stayed out long enough for the Darien Girls Varsity Golf Team to defeat both Fairfield Ludlowe and New Canaan in a home match at Country Club of Darien on Tuesday May 24th. The team had a combined score of 181. Senior captain Nicole Granath shot a 42; Senior captain Kendall Kyritz and sophomore Izzy Lee both shot 44’s, senior Corinne Teschner shot a 51, and senior Perrin Brown shot a 53. This match improved the girls’ rankings in both the FCIAC and State tournaments. “Everyone played extremely well today and we are looking forward to continuing on with low scores into FCIACs and States!” Kyritz said. Be sure to come support the team in their next match, which is FCIACs, at the Rolling Hills course in Wilton next Tuesday, May 31st.
