The Darien Boys Hockey team had its
first home game last night against the New Canaan Rams. Despite being on a
Monday and being at 4:00 pm, the stands were filled with students in white
representing the Blue Wave. The boys won the game 6 to 1 even with a handful of
players out sick or playing under the weather. The team took the lead early in
the game with two goals early in the first period. The boys continued the
streak scoring exactly two goals each period. New Canaan managed to get in a
goal in the second period, but the puck was kept on New Canaan’s side for the
majority. DHS had a lot of great spirit and cheers this game. Hopefully they
keep it up. The team’s next game is this Friday at 1:50 against Notre
Dame.
