DHS Girls’ Varsity Soccer ended their season on a low note with their defeat against Glastonbury

Mac McDonough
In the first half Darien was trailing behind Glastonbury’s 2-0 lead in the quarter finals of states. Glastonbury was the number one seed heading into the quarter finals while the Darien girls’ team was 25th, after the major upset against Ridgefield in the first round of states and Hamden in the second round the girls’ had already accomplished so much before heading into the quarter finals as the underdog team. Though the wave lost 4-0 against Glastonbury, an undefeated team who won states last year, they played very strong and kept their heads up despite the disappointing lost.
“Our season came to an end but we are more than just a team  we are a family,” junior Morgan Sawitsky said after the game.
