JV Football Falls Short Against Greenwich

By Britton Barthold
Less than twelve hours after a thrilling Varsity win against Greenwich, the JV team drove back to the “Land of the Bird”. The JV team entered the game 1-0 after a 14-0 victory over Hillhouse, but were over-matched by the much older Greenwich team. The team, with only four juniors playing, played a Greenwich team with over 20 juniors. The final score was 12-7 after the teams stellar defense was unable to hold Greenwich on their final drive. The defense was complemented by inside linebackers Sam Giorgio and Jake Bielers play, along with two massive fourth down stops, with one being right on the goal-line. The offensive line for the Blue Wave played a massive front four from Greenwich and a relentless blitz, but managed to hold off the Cardinals for the time being. Junior Linebacker was happy on the performance, saying they “fought valiantly headed by their Junior captains, but in the end we could not get a good enough offensive drive to win the game.” The JV team looks to rebound against Bassick at the DHS Stadium next Monday.
Sophomore Tackle Cord Fox carries the ball during Saturday's contest.
