Darien Volleyball Finds Success at Senior Day

By Amanda Sload

Following a commanding Dig Pink performance, the Darien Girls Volleyball Team continued its undefeated league play in a win over Westhill this Monday (10/2), on Senior Day, improving to 16-0. The team honored its four seniors, Celia Martzolf, Claire Naughton, Keli Reyes, and Emily Milukas.

Darien showed its dominance against Westhill, winning in three sets: 25-10, 25-14, and 25-9. Junior captain Izzy Taylor, who returned to play today after pulling her hamstring, had 13 kills, and Naughton added eight more. Martzolf had six aces and 28 assists, and Reyes had five aces and seven digs.

Martzolf was overall pleased with the team’s continued success: “Overall, it was a good three games. We played solidly throughout and never lost focus.”

While this was the girls’ final regular season home game, the team will travel to play Danbury on Wednesday (10/22) at 4 PM. Show the undefeated team your support!
