By Sara Shaker - The Boys Volleyball team beat Staples 3-2 on Friday at 7 p.m. at Fairfield Ludlowe High School for its first FCIAC championship. Staples won the first game, but Darien came out with fire and took the second. Staples also won the third game, but Darien won the last two, earning the title. “We were really excited to be in the FCIAC Championship so we gave it our all,” junior Matt Lee said. “And we knew we had the ability to beat them, so we came out with a ton of intensity and played perfectly in the fifth game.” Come support the team in the State quarterfinals this Friday (6/3) at 7 p.m. at home.
