The girl’s varsity lacrosse team went up against Staples in the FCIAC Semi-Finals, defeating them with a whopping 19-5 lead. With Staples being the number one seed in FCIAC, this win for Darien was huge and automatically landed the girls in a superior position in FCIACs. The first half of the game started out strong, with 13 goals being scored by Darien. Darien’s offense was on fire and included goals from junior Brynn Gasparino who scored four, senior Ellie Bullit who scored three and freshman Dillon Schoen who scored four as well. Offense weren’t the only ones showing off their skills, the defense also seemed to be playing their best despite the high level of competition. The team will advance into FCIAC Finals at Brian McMahon, their opponent is TBA. Be sure to see if the team wins the FCIAC title this year at 4:30 pm on Friday the 27th.
