Recent Bad Weather Doesn’t Help Blue Wave Teams

By Collin Shay - The saying is “April showers bring May flowers,” not, “April showers continue into May!” The rain in Connecticut has been coming non-stop, and it’s starting to have a big impact on Blue Wave Teams.
The Girls’ Softball Team has had three of its games post-poned in the last week, which causes an inconvenience for the entire conference. When one match is off, every match is off. “They don’t want to give any team the advantage of having a day off when another team has a game,” said senior softball player Samantha Wood.
Among other teams which had games post-poned or cancelled were Boys’ Varsity Baseball, Girls’ Lacrosse, Boy’s JV Lacrosse, Girls’ JV Tennis, and Girls’ JV Golf.
The forecast for this week calls for more thunderstorms, with temperatures in the 70’s, with rain continuing into the beginning of next week. But worry not, DHS, we’ll surely be done with this wet spot by the time June comes.
