By Ben Preston - On Monday, May 16, 2011, the Blue Wave Boys Volleyball team won its 16th game over Trumbull. The Wave boys volleyball team climbed to 16-1 overall, 13-1 FCIAC with a sweep of Trumbull on Monday. Darien took the game 25-11, 25-10, 25-11. The Wave is second to defending champion Staples (14-1), which it defeated this season, in the league standings. Tommy Nicholls made 25 assists. Senior captain, Calder Billhardt led with 12 kills, junior Sam Bryan had seven, and senior Austin Cockerill five. The team wraps up its season against Harding on Wednesday (5/18) and with a win should be the #1 seed in the FCIAC and CIAC tournament.
