Boys Volleyball Finish Season Strong
By Allison Wetterauw - The Varsity Volleyball Team won it's last game of its regular season against Harding High School of Bridgeport(May 18th). They won the first three games and finished the match early, not needing to play out the last two games of the match. Senior Calder Billhardt, and junior Sam Bryant, the outside hitters played really well. Another standout was senior Austin Cockerill, a middle hitter. Matt Lee a setter, set a lot of easy hits for the team as they improved to 17-1 on the season. After winning this match they are now 2nd in the state to Cheshire, who is now undefeated. With the win, they have clinched a tie with Staples for the first place in the FCIAC and the future of the team looks good. "We have really good team chemistry this year, we have never been ranked this high going into FCIACS and as long as we can play together as a team, we can take it all the way to FCIACS and states." senior Austin Cockerill said.
