The Girls Varsity Swim team competed in the FCIAC Swimming Championships at Greenwich High School, Saturday, November 6th. The Girls had a great showing and managed to finish in 4th place behind New Canaan, Greenwich, and Wilton. The team did a great job, and had many swimmers earn all FCIAC honors. Senior Captain Lindsay Tyler was honored with First team all FCIAC after her second place finish in the 500 yard Freestyle, fourth place finish in the 200 yard Freestyle, and her her great work in the relays. Other members of the team that earned Second team all FCIAC included Catherine Treesh, Cammie Kirby, Caroline Orem, Amanda Bieler, and Francesca Milewski. “I think our team did great, considering we didn’t rest, shave, or wear fastskins like a lot of other teams. Plus, it’s been a rebuilding year, with 14 new swimmers on our team" Tyler said. The upcoming events for the Blue Wave include:Class L State Trials – Saturday, November 13th in East Hartford,
Class L State Finals – Wednesday, November 17th at Southern Connecticut State University, and State Opens – Saturday, November 20th at Yale. We wish the girls the best of luck on the remainder of their season.
