Wave Hockey Loses Heartbreaker to New Canaan

-By: Sam Nelson-

The Blue Wave Boys Hockey team jumped out to an early lead after two periods, but was unable to keep the New Canaan Rams off the scoreboard on Wednesday (2/9). The Rams defeated the Wave 3-1 at Terry Connors Rink in Stamford. The Rams scored three unanswered goals in the third period. The Wave got on the board early with a goal by junior captain Nick Bruno, and kept that lead through the end of the first as it was 1-0. The second period lacked goals, but was filled with great goaltending by junior Max Rothston. The third period started with an early goal by New Canaan freshman Charley Corcoran. This tied the score at 1-1, and the Rams would not look back as they went on to score two more goals for a 3-1 win. With the loss, the Wave have a record of 7-7-1, with a 4-3 record in FCIAC play. Come watch the Wave’s next game on Saturday (2/12) against Westhill High School at Terry Connors Rink.
