Darien Boys Lacrosse Trumps Stamford

The Darien Boys lacrosse team finished their regular season with a 16-2 win against Stamford on Tuesday at Darien High School’s stadium.

Senior Peter Gesualdi scored the first goal of the game, tying it at 1-1 after intercepting a pass, and junior Kyle Cornell scored the second at the beginning of the first quarter.
In the second quarter senior Kevin Seiler, Cornell, senior Brendan Hathaway, junior John Reed, and freshman Jack Kniffen all scored. In the third and fourth quarters, Kniffen, senior Drew Martzolf, junior Harry Gillespie, sophomore John Sommi, junior Goose Bolton, sophomore Connor Waldron and sophomore Riley van den Broek all scored.

Two of the team’s key players, juniors Peter Lindley and Phil Huffard, each sat out with minor injuries.

The Blue Wave will next play in the FCIAC quarterfinals this Saturday (5/18). The date and time have yet to be determined.
