The loyal Darien fans were cheering again and the Ski Team banner hung at the finish line for both the boys and girls ski teams.
On Tuesday (2/11), the Darien High School Boys Varsity Ski team improved its record to eight wins against six losses at Mount Southington by defeating Danbury while losing to Fairfield and Cheshire. The DHS boys finished sixth with a time of 292.79. Fairfield had the best time of the night at 274.05 and Cheshire’s time was 286.14 while Pomperaug finished with a time of 307.53. Boys’ times this week were Co-captain Andrew DelCol 45.26, Will McCoy 48.20, Co-captain Robert Goeller 48.38, Brady Collins 49.34, Chris Brophy 50.20, Willem Sandberg 51.41, Andy Mogenson 52.79, Billy Griffiths 57.11, David Maturo 57.34, and Jack Clarke 57.97.

Also on Tuesday, the Darien Girls Varsity Ski Team extended its unblemished record to 10 wins and no losses by defeating Cheshire, Fairfield and Danbury. The DHS Girls finished had a winning time of 299.58 while Fairfield 301.16, Cheshire 317.08 and the Danbury team was disqualified. Girls’ times were Co-captain Meg DelCol 49.68, Co-captain Alex Bair (pictured) 49.65, Natalie Rowe 50.26, Fay Rizzuto 50.56, Courtney Kyritz 50.86, Allison Graham 51.27, Kailin Edgar 54.23, Kendall Kyritz 54.30, Dana Howe 55.51, and Kelsey Edgar 56.32.
