Boys Tennis Falls to New Canaan in FCIAC Semifinals

-By: Ian Sullivan-

The boys’ Blue Wave tennis team suffered a devastating loss of 4-0 against arch rivals New Canaan on Wednesday (5/26) at New Canaan High School. After finishing the regular season at a strong 10-6 record, the Blue Wave had landed the # 7 spot in FCIAC’s, making it to the semifinals. The Rams, which had a 14-2 record, had handed Darien a 5-2 loss earlier in the regular season and nobody was going to stop them in route for an FCIAC finals appearance. The Rams crushed the hopes of Darien making a return to the finals sweeping Darien in all four matches. "After a great win at Greenwich it was disappointing not to give New Canaan a better match. It was a tough loss that we can build from," junior Rupert Hansford said. New Canaan will face the undefeated Staples Wreckers in the finals at Wilton High School on Thursday. (5/27)
