The hot streak continues for the girls’ softball team, as it tallied yet another victory with a 2-0 shutout of Staples High School at home on Friday. (4/30) Sophomore Kelly Fahey knocked in two runs on a blistering double in the first inning. Sophomores Emily Blosio and Olivia Gozdz scored those runs, and it turns out that this would be all the run support Darien would need. Sophomore Jessica DeMaio (pictured) put up another stellar effort on the mound, striking out nine batters as she blanked the Staples lineup, not surrendering a single run. Wave softball is now 10-0 on the season so far, remaining undefeated after this win. The unprecedented spectacular start is now drawing great attention, as it should for this team.
