Girls House Basketball Final Regular Season Power Rankings

by Caroline McKay

1. Sun Devils (9-2) Points For: 299 Points Against: 221
With a win percentage of 82%, the Sun Devils have had a spectacular season and are entering playoffs as the number one seed. They have scored the most points, and allowed the least amount of baskets to be made on them. Junior Tyson Maley, senior Alexa Sheldon, and sophomore Megan Hobbs are players to watch in the playoff games.

2. Hoosiers (7-4) PF: 241 PA: 238
The Hoosiers have won 64% of their games, the only team along with the Sun Devils to have won over 50%. The Hoosiers have been able to beat every team at least once, except for the #1 Sun Devils. Players to watch are junior Keli Reyes and sophomore Morgan Teinken.

3. Blue Devils (5-6) PF: 235 PA: 242
The Blue Devils do not have the same record as the #2 Hoosiers, as they have only won 45% of their games, but they have managed to beat the Hoosiers in 2 out of 3 match ups. The Blue Devils are also close to the Hoosiers in points-for and points-against, but they just have not been able to pull out as many wins. Players to watch are junior Elizabeth Fucigna and senior Mary Kate McCarthy.

4. Cavaliers (5-6) PF: 223 PA: 245
The Cavaliers also have a win percentage of 45. At the middle of the pack, not all hope is lost to take home a championship win. The Cavaliers have beaten the Blue Devils and the Hoosiers in the past, if only once. Players to watch are juniors Maddie Cush and Claire Billeter, as well as senior Liz Stile.

5. Tarheels (5-6) PF: 283 PA: 244
The Tarheels had a strong start to the season, but a loss to the Blue Devils by one basket began a streak in which they lost five of their last six games. Players to watch are seniors Colleen Keating and Morgan Sawitsky.

6. Bears (2-9) PF: 231 PA: 322
The Bears have won two games this season, against the #3 Blue Devils and the #5 Tarheels. Maybe the playoff season will be their time to shine! Players to watch are senior Kiki Martin, who has great ball-handling skills, and junior Julia Boccuzzi with the outside shot.
