On Thursday, February 6th, the Boys Varsity
Hockey team had a great win against Fairfield Prep with a final score of 3-2.
The Blue Wave knew that this game was going to be a hard game but the Blue Wave
Super Fans never gave up and kept the Blue Wave Pride alive. The last game
against Fairfield Prep was on December 21st, 2013, at Bridgeport’s
Wonderland of Ice, where Darien also defeated the Jesuits by one goal with a
final score of 2-1.
Within the first seven minutes of the game, Prep scored,
making the score 0-1. Just three minutes after that, Prep scored again as the puck
fell out of Michael Colon’s glove and into the goal, bringing the score to 0-2.
The Blue Wave Super Fans were as rowdy as ever and never lost hope with Wave
Puck. Within the first five minutes of the second period, junior Jack Pardue scored
for Darien, making a comeback and bringing the score up to 1-2. In the middle
of the third period, senior Tommy Watters scored tying the score at 2-2. The
game went into overtime where senior Nick Allam made the winning goal ending
with a final score of 3-2.
The team’s next game is Saturday, February 8th at 8 pm at SoNo Ice House against Norwalk-McMahon.
