The Drive For Five

-By: Elizabeth Crafford-

The Darien boys’ lacrosse team crushed Brien McMahon in the quarter finals of the FCIACs on Wednesday. The Wave started off strong in the first half with 10 goals, while McMahon struggled on offense with zero at the half. Standout player, senior midfielder, John Bolton, tied the school record for most individual goals scored in a game with eight goals. Freshman Case Matheis had one goal, in addition to senior attacker Chas Brickman. McMahon struggled to turn the tide in its favor and lost the game 14-2. “We shut them down in the first half and set the level of play high,” sophomore J.P. Walsh said. The Blue Wave boys’ lacrosse team is currently 13-1 in the FCIAC, and will be continuing on to the semifinals against Wilton on Friday May, 29 at 4pm at Brien McMahon in Norwalk.
